A town of about 2500, Bordertown is situated approximatly 3 hours from Adelaide and is a great place to stop, when travelling along the Dukes Highway between Adelaide and Melbourne. The best place to Stop is at Tolmer Park with the Bakery, gift shop and tourist information office all in the one building and a supermarket across the road. The bakery has a nice atmosphere and is built around the old police station which you can see the facarde of inside. Outside the old jail cells have been turned into public toilets.
Tolmer Park itself has a creek running through it and plenty of lawn for the kids to run around onand stretch their legs. There is also some interesting unexpected treasures on some of the old red gum logs around the park as well as signs that tell of some history in the area. Well worth a look and something to get the circulation back in your legs.
If your an overseas visitor or a local get an idea of what to see while your here traveling in Australia
